Much development continues in and around the Glebe Annex:
- 275 Carling Ave – Taggart’s proposed retirement home at 275 Carling Ave is still in the site plan approval process. Taggart hopes to start construction this summer.
- Booth St. Complex – Canada Land Company’s (CLC’s) proposed zoning changes for the Booth St. Complex were recently reviewed by the built-heritage sub-committee and will be considered by planning committee on February 28th before going to full council for final approval. The report to the planning committee can be found here. A recent article explaining the status of the proposed development can be found here. Following city council approval, next steps include remediation and marketing the site to developers.
- 291 Carling Ave – CLC is expected to share the preferred concept for the 291 Carling Ave site this spring. (This is the 3.4-acre parking lot bounded by Carling Ave, Bell St. South and Lebreton St. South). Information about the project will be shared by CLC at the Glebe Annex Community Association Annual General Meeting, which will be held on May 9th, 2019. More details will follow in the coming months.
- 289 Carling – As referenced in our last newsletter, the planned information session for the supported housing/housing for the homeless project at 289 Carling is still being finalized by the city and the John Howard Society. We hope to be able to share details soon.
