The site plan application for the John Howard Society’s (JHS) planned 6-storey, 40 unit supportive housing project for the chronically homeless was approved on Wednesday, June 10th.
The JHS has applied for a conditional building permit to enable construction on the site to begin as quickly as possible. While the timelines are still tentative, the current plan is to start excavation once the JHS receives its permit, which is expected in August.
Construction will take approximately 14 months. If these timelines hold, occupancy will be at some point in fall 2021. We will keep the community informed as we know more.
