In December 2019, we informed the community about a proposal from 2B Developments to replace the single-family home on 7 MacLean St with a 3-storey, 7-unit apartment building with a rooftop terrace.
2B submitted its site plan documents last February, and we worked with nearby neighbours to provide comments to the City about the proposal.
We were happy to see that in new documents submitted by 2B in May, a number of our concerns have been addressed. This includes a request for more native plants, an accessible unit (as provincially mandated), and clarity as to where snow would be stored on-site.
Both original and updated documents can be found here: http://ottwatch.ca/devapps/D07-12-20-0007. For easy reference, the updated documents are labelled as ‘2nd submission’.
The City has advised us that the site plan is on hold until the developer obtains the necessary zoning variances. Under current zoning rules, the lot size isn’t large enough for an apartment building.
We will continue to follow this development and keep the community informed as we know more.
