After many years in the works, including a change in ownership of the site, Katasa’s 16-storey retirement residence is nearing site plan approval. While we still don’t know when they will start construction, we are keeping a watchful eye on the development, and already seeing some related activity occurring in the neighbourhood – Clemow Ave was shut to traffic for several weeks this summer to enable hydro Hydro Ottawa to install new ductwork for the project.
We expect the first part of the project to include the demolition of some of the underground parking garage at the site’s sister property at 265 Carling, to allow Katasa to expand the underground parking under the building at 275.
