Impending Closures as part of Mid-Town Bridges Project

We will soon see the effects of the mid-town bridges replacement project near our community. This project will replace 5 bridges on Highway 417 between Preston Street and Percy Street, as well as implement “operational improvements” from Island Park Drive to Kent Street.

The project is expected to get underway in the following weeks. While the Bronson and Percy bridges won’t be replaced until 2023, there will be some closures, largely due to staging activities, on nearby streets starting mid-late June. (Firm dates have not yet been released.) These include:

  • Raymond St between Rochester and Booth, closed from mid-late June until October 2022
  • Orangeville St between Rochester and Booth, closed from mid-late June until November 2025

The on and off-ramps in the vicinity will continue to be open, as will Rochester and Booth streets themselves. The current work going on near the Booth St. underpass is unrelated – it is part of utility work being carried out by Bell Canada.
