Free Workshops for Glebe Annex Cyclists

The Glebe Annex Community Association (GACA) is offering two free cycling courses in June 2016.  Can-Bike is a national program developed by Cycling Canada. The courses are delivered by certified instructors and funding is provided by Safer Roads Ottawa.

Saturday, June 4thBike Rodeo is for youth ages 6 to 10.  It will be held in the Government of Canada parking lot on Carling Avenue between Bell Street South and Lebreton Street from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. with a rain date on Sunday, June 5th from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.  Bike Rodeo provides an introduction to some cycling skills and safety.

Thursday, June 9thCan-Bike Commuter is for adults. This course will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. with a rain date on Friday, June 10th. The course includes theory, cycling skills and on road components.  Comments from adults who have completed Can-Bike Commuter have been extremely positive.  The meeting place (within the Glebe Annex) will be announced beforehand.
