Road Close Authorization for Lakeview Terrace between Bronson Avenue and Queen Elizabeth Drive from August 8 to November 30, 2016

Dear Glebe Annex residents,

We’ve have received the following message from the City of Ottawa regarding a Road Close Authorization for Lakeview Terrace (Ward 17) from Bronson Avenue to Queen Elizabeth Drive. The road will be closed from Monday, 8 August 2016 to Wednesday, 30 November 2016.

The contractor, Ottawa Greenbelt Construction Co. Ltd., will be undertaking Capital Works Project ISD15-5061 – Road, Sewer & Watermain Reconstruction.  Please see below.

AUTHORIZATION TO CLOSE STREET 

FOR THE PURPOSE OF CONSTRUCTION

In accordance with The Road Activity By-law 2003-445, permission is hereby granted for you to close the following roadway:

 

Under the following conditions:

Duration:

  • Monday, 8 August 2016 to Wednesday, 30 November 2016.

Public Notification: 

  • Notify affected residents/businesses, in writing, a minimum of 72 hours prior to the closure. The notification must be bilingual and include a description of any temporary changes to local access and/or parking.

Signage/Conditions:

  • Contractor is to follow the terms and conditions outlined in Contract (ISD15-5061) pertaining to traffic management during construction.
  • Lakeview Terrace between Bronson Avenue and Queen Elizabeth Drive may be closed Monday, 8 August 2016 to Wednesday, 30 November 2016
  • Contact the City’s Bylaws, Permits and Inspections Unit (Heather Bond:  613-580-2424 ext. 16051) if the date of closure changes from that stated on the application.
  • Notify affected residents/businesses, in writing, a minimum of 72 hours prior to the closure. The notification must include a description of any temporary changes to local access and/or parking.
  • Contractor is to install all road closure and detour signage as identified in the attached traffic control plans.
  • Provide “Road Closed” signs plus any barricades, barrels or other traffic control devices at the work zone as may be necessary to ensure both public and worker safety.
  • All traffic control is to be in accordance with OTM Book 7.
  • Maintain pedestrian access and provide pedestrian detours if necessary.
  • Maintain access to adjacent dwellings and businesses at all times.  This includes emergency vehicle access.
  • At any time during the work, the City Traffic Management Inspector, at his/her discretion, may require the contractor to supply and install additional traffic control devices (signs, barrels etc) and/or retain point duty police to control traffic.  The contractor is responsible for all costs.

Other:

  • Contact Heather Bond, Coordinator, Work Activity (613-580-2424 x 16051) if dates of closure change from those stated on the application.
  • At any time during the work, the City Traffic Management Inspector, at his/her discretion, may instruct the contractor to undertake portions of the work after 6:30 PM or on weekends.  He/she may also require the contractor to supply and install additional traffic control devices (signs, barrels etc) and/or retain point duty police to control traffic.  The contractor is responsible for all costs.
