Dear Glebe Annex residents,
Please find the following advisory forwarded to us by the councillor’s office.
**************
FYI-
This is a heads-up that the CAF 30th Field Artillery Regiment (the Bytown Gunners) will take part in Friday’s night’s REDBLACKS regular season finale by firing charges (no shell, of course) at certain points in the game. The plan is to fire at the end of the National Anthem (approx. … 7:04 PM) and after REDBLACKS’ touchdowns.
The charges will be fired from a Howitzer artillery piece located outside TD Place stadium in the centre of the great lawn. The Regiment will set up a perimeter around the piece to ensure sound pressure levels are well within safe levels for any passerby. No charges will be fired after 11 PM.
The “Gunners” are the same regiment that takes part in official ceremonies on Parliament Hill and elsewhere on special occasions. Their top priority is safety.
I plan to notify all area community groups/publications this afternoon. We will also work with City Comms and local media to notify the public at large and we will of course notify all fans/event attendees in our database.
