Final Days to Comment on Ottawa’s Proposed Wildlife Construction Protocol

Until 6 March, the city will accept comments on the draft Wildlife Construction Protocol, which recommends that developers choose a time of year to clear vegetation and cut down trees that reduces the chances of killing wildlife during bitterly cold winters or creating orphans during the birthing season. While there are members of the development industry who oppose this protocol, the draft Protocol is a sensible one that will not only reduce harm to wildlife but will assist homeowners with information that will reduce wildlife conflicts, saving them money.
